Cristian Ianculescu
I was born in Romania, in the south-western part of Transylvania. I was introduced to drawing at an early age by my grandfather, an accomplished photographer and painter. Throughout my formative years I developed my drawing skills under the instruction of one of Romania’s celebrated artist, the late Mr. Richard Mantu.
I studied painting with Natasha Mokina and Leslie Exton, and sculpture with Charles Flickinger at the Corcoran College of Art and Design, and stone carving with Nizette Brennan at her Glen Echo studio.
I am keenly interested in figurative art. I enjoy the challenge of portraying human emotion and interaction, in painting and in sculpture.
